Over the past three or four days, I have noticed a significant (relatively tardy) development in Jahan's fine motor skills (phew!). Amongst the things I've noticed is the recognition of the distinction between light and shadow, a keener interest in examining small objects and a tendency to manipulate objects subconsciously while, for example, eating dinner or drinking milk.
Yesterday I caught Jahan sitting in his bath trying to catch the shadow of the ripples on the floor of the bathtub, and this morning he was trying to catch dust particles in the air. So if nothing else, he is at least providing his parents with much amusement as his observational skills develop!
