Jahan has been walking for over two months now (about 9 weeks). He has had many little tumbles (in fact he seems to be perfecting the art of a "clean" fall when toddling). And even aside from those, Jahan has previously climbed out of his cot, rolled off a bed and even fallen backwards of a bottom step. No major war injuries to show for these.
Well, there's a first time for everything, and yesterday, my son decided to test his limits. And decided to do so, not on the carpet, or the floorboards, or even on the grass - but on the concrete driveway. While playing happily outside, he ran hell-for-leather towards the driveway, tripped on the edge of it, fell, hit the side of his head and somersaulted forwards. Yes, there was blood, and a bruise (he refused to let me put an ice-pack on his head), and a swollen eye. Of course he was fine less than a minute later, when the shock wore off. No signs of internal bleeding or concussion, no other bits of him seem to hurt. So, determined to be as resilient as my son, it was owards and upwards. No visits to the doctor either (although Mummy did insist on wiping the wound with some smelly, stinging antiseptic, and wasn't popular for hours).
Awwww! Poor thing. Gosh, I would have been terrified! I guess it's only a matter of time...
