Jahan is 15 months today (see recent pics). I'm not sure what to write about his developmental status, because he now seems like a Real Little Boy. He's extremely interesting and fun to spend time with.
There's no putting anything past him. His cognitive skills are finely honed, and he comprehends not only my words, but also my facial expressions, tone of voice, and actions. Although he is still easily distracted, he is fully aware when something he wants is taken away or hidden from his view.
He continues to come up with interesting expressions out of the blue. Yesterday he said "Mummy, don't!" when I tried to comb his hair. His language skills continue to soar steadily, although he still often plays mute in front of strangers.
Otherwise, socially, Jahan has really come out of his shell. Although he is still visibly tentative around unfamiliar faces, he is quite social when he feels unthreatened. He now happily acquiesces when dropped at Day Care or Church Creche, and consciously interacts with the children there.
Jahan continues to be a high-maintenance sort. I don't mean that in a negative way - he is not disobedient or naughty. He is, however, extremely curious, adventurous, energetic and (among familiar faces) very social. For a solitary carer, a day with Jahan can be exhausting. But it can also be amazing fun.
