Jahan's routine has recently changed to his sleeping in until @ 7.30 am. (He still wakes up for a bottle @ 5am, but sleeps again immediately afterwards). As a result, both Duncan and I seem to be sleeping in a bit later - even on weekdays.
I can't speak for Duncan (who now finds himself getting into work at 9.30!) but the extra hour of sleep is making a world of difference to me. At 6.30 am, that sweet but piercing racket in the next room used to strike in the deepest of sleep. No more. I now seem to have just that much more energy to cope with the day at home with Jahan - the most challenging part of my week.
And that's not to mention the difference it is making to Jahan too. He is alert and energetic for longer periods, which means I can go out for a morning without disrupting his routine, or fearing that he'll nap in the car for 10 minutes and spoil his (critical) afternoon sleep.
Just that one extra step towards a more sane experience of motherhood.
