The Goringes presented Jahan with a "Maisy" DVD for Christmas, and I cannot wax lyrical enough about it. Until recently, Jahan's TV experience had been limited to The Wiggles (involving yet limiting in its musical nature), and Pingu (hilarous to adults and older children, but only mildly amusing to toddlers who cannot fully comprehend the concepts). For Jahan's age, however, Maisy is ideal. Primary and secondary colours are used on plain backgrounds to depict simple images which can be easily recognized by toddlers. The narrative is clear and concise, concepts and storylines are simple and fascinating to toddlers, characters are limited yet diverse and well defined, catchy music and great sound effects (mooing cows courtesy of the Umbilical Brothers).
I cannot recommend this series enough for 1-3 year olds.
